Threading A Fishing Hook - Magnifier Tested!

Threading A Fishing Hook - Magnifier Tested!

Threading a fishing hook is really hard on small hook sizes - especially for tying off a fly. You can get the flip down eyeglasses, but they can get in the way of your hat or are not the right distance from eye to fly to use easily. I test the Harbor Freight Jewelers Loupe as a potential replacement for the eyeglasses we know as "cheaters." This is an easy trick for beginners who struggle with tippet and need an easy magnifying glass to help thread the fishing line prior to tying a knot. Good tool!
