Sink, float or sinktip?

So a floating fly line floats, and a sinking line sinks...yeah...but how does the different lines make the flies move?...and where, and when?...How can we combine lines and different flies to get the results we want, and attracts the fish? I got more questions after my video then before actually :D Please let me know what you think and how you use the different tools!
